Ibiam Orji
My testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home as fourth generation Christian (My great -great grandmother was one the first Christian in my home country Edda –Edda east LGA in Eboyin State,) in the south-east part of the country and am thankful for several generations of strong Christian heritage. I encountered the Lord at 5+ in my bid for seeking meaning for life. God really took hold of my life as I surrendered more and more of myself to Him during and after my high school and college days. One of the reason I love God is that he only gives meaning to life. Each day I live for Him till His purpose is made manifest for this generation, this is the reason why He saved me so early.
My calling to the nations:
My burden for the nation came year after my secondary education (high school), as I joined with a church group called “Speed the Light” which was ready to take the gospel to anywhere, we really did. On assumptions to my college I joined NIFES fellowship and served in all levels of fellowship leadership. While serving as central president for Lagos (Sub-zonal President), I read the book “Student power in world missions” by David M Howard. It is a book that transform my life for global mission involvement.
As a result we led over 600 students to once a week outreaches to Folu, a non-Christian environment in the outsketches of Lagos in July 2000 and about 300 students to Ilara another non-Christian environment in another suburb of Lagos during the Christmas holiday of that same year. I joined in many follow up mission outreaches with NIFES, CAPRO and others to mention a few. This was a build up of what God wanted to use my life for for this generation (call it preparation).
I met Ryan in 2002 and by 2004 we shared the same passion for this generation. I have shared SVM2 vision within campuses in south-south, south-east and south-west; I also have attended meeting with national student commission youth and student arms of Nigeria Evangelical Mission Association (NEMA) in July 2007 and May 2009 I Jos in preparation for eliciting Nigeria youth/students for this global Divine agenda. I believe in the vision 5015 of Nigeria church championed by NEMA, looking forward to raising a large number of new message bearers. In other to achieve this we have had 3 Ignite conferences between 2007 – 2009 gearing to do more grassroots mobilization in future.
My life verse:
” Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.” – 2 Corinthians 4:1
