My testimony:

I was born in Papua New Guinea and lived the first seven years of my life in a jungle. After this, my family settled in Pasadena, California, and I gave my life to Jesus in a way that I truly understood at age 13. This changed me dramatically, as I no longer was comfortable doing things half-heartedly. I knew that becoming a serious believer meant I had to follow seriously. Many experiences shaped my teenage years, but one of the most profound was a mentor who took an interest in me and poured his life into my own. For six years, he walked with me, taught me the Word of God, and how to live as a true disciple of Jesus. I wish I could say I lived up to what I knew, but I can’t. I made serious mistakes along the way, and learned firsthand the power of the grace of God in a life.

My calling to the nations:

Though raised in a home dedicated to world evangelization, this was not something I was interested in as a teenager. The Holy Spirit had to dramatically change my paradigm, and impart to me understanding and passion for this work that is so close to His great heart. This came through reading books on God’s heart for the nations, biographies of great mission leaders, and encountering the Lord’s heart firsthand in the place of prayer. Through such times, Jesus revealed His call on my life as a “servant to the nations” and specifically to help raise up a young generation with fervency and love for Him and His global purposes. He has confirmed such a calling in untold ways and through amazing means.

My life verse:

“Not that I have already attained or am already perfected but I press on that I may hold of all that Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” – Philippians 3:12
