Paul Van Der Werf

My testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home and am thankful for several generations of strong Christian heritage. God really took hold of my life as I surrendered more and more of myself to him while I was in college. The thing that I love most about God is that he is the giver and the source of true hope. No matter what we face, no matter what our present circumstances and no matter how difficult or out of our control we find ourselves, God is in control and because of that we have hope and a future.
My calling to the nations:
I first got involved in missions through a ten-day short term mission trip to Honduras in college. Soon after that experience, I was studying Spanish and planning how I was going to serve God overseas when I graduated. That led me to a year of evangelism in Amsterdam and then three years of missions work in Mexico. About 8 years ago I was studying about missions history in the United States and that is when I first learned about the incredible history of how college students have been at the cutting edge of missions movements in the US. Right then and there, I knew that God wanted to use my gifts of organizing, planning and connecting to help to send workers to the areas with the greatest need in our generation.
My life verse:
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
