My testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home, but I didn’t really understand the ramifications of my sin nature until I was in junior high. It was then, at a youth camp with my home church, that I understood the power of Christ’s death and resurrection in my life. Since then, I’ve journeyed with my Creator as I’ve grown in knowledge, humility, and intimacy with Him. I rely daily on His grace.
My calling:
When I was 15, I went on my first mission trip to Russia, and was slightly intrigued by the thought of doing missions full-time. After a number of short-term trips to Mexico with my church, I added anthropology in college as a double major with my English. It was in those secular anthropology classes that God stirred in my heart a passion for all nations and all peoples. Since then, he’s brought me to live in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, where I’ve been privileged to share His good news to those who haven’t heard.
My life verse:
“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:11-13
