My Testimony:
Born in Armstrong, MO, I was raised in a small community where my parents farm over 600 acres and grow over 100,000 daylilies. As I grew up, my parents were nominal Christians, going to church but not knowing there was something deeper they were missing. But in just two years, my entire family was radically saved and transformed. I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord when I was 14. Just after turning 16, I was driving into town to meet a friend to go Christmas shopping when I hit a patch of black ice and swerved to avoid an oncoming car in my lane. After the car flipped onto the drivers’ side and slid down the road over a hundred feet, I ended up with the car totaled, and only a single bruise. The police officer said that it was a miracle that I was alive. Sensing God’s prompting, I committed myself to fulltime ministry. As I continued to seek the Lord and received counsel from mentors in my life, I found that my calling from God was to ministry among the nations.
My Calling To The Nations:
I went to Greenville College, a small Christian liberal arts college in Illinois and received her BA degree in Religion and Philosophy in 2000. During my college years, I went on several international trips which confirmed my desire and God’s call to serve the Lord in reaching the nations of the earth. After completing my bachelor degree, I attended the School of Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary from 2000-2003 and received my MA in Theology with a concentration in Biblical Studies and Theology.
My call is to serve the emerging generation by calling them to get involved in reaching those with the least access to the good news and by giving them an example in our own lives of serving among the least reached. This vision grew in my heart through my college and seminary experiences, traveling and meeting people who are in desperate need of the gospel while simultaneously feeling a burden to work with college students. In particular, I feel called to see college students properly trained to meet the immense challenges of reaching the forgotten in our lifetime as well as seeing a great prayer movement birthed among students as nothing is done outside of prayer.
My Life Verse:
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
